The Buddleja Auriculata (Weeping Sage), is indigenous and has very fragrant flowers, irresistible to bees and butterflies. This shrub is drought-tolerant and can grow quickly, so it needs to be trimmed after flowering to keep the size manageable.

Seasonal Stunners for Spring and Summer :

The Hydrangea Macrophylla (Christmas Rose) is a gloriously large shrub with an abundance of big ball-shaped blooms and dense dark green foliage. A position in semi or full shade is ideal. Heavenly Bamboo (Nandina Domestica) is a pretty, dainty upright shrub with clusters of creamy white flowers throughout the Summer. The foliage is spectacular in Spring, emerging with bright red leaves, which gradually turn green as they mature. In late Autumn into Winter, the Nandina has shiny red berries, and the shrub will grow well in semi-shade or full sun. Abelia Grandiflora (Glossy Abelia), comes in several varieties, dwarf to tall, with a choice of different coloured flowers and foliage, ranging from dark pink to yellow blooms, and variegated foliage.

Year-Round Appeal with Hardy Favorites

For a year-round attractive shrub, the Escallonia tops the bill. It has small, evergreen, aromatic glossy leaves and dainty clusters of flowers from crimson and pink to white, flowering from Spring to Autumn.
Callistemon (Bottle Brush) remains a firm favourite with its distinctive blooms of bright red, thriving in full sun.
